Tom Noonan’s 1994 independent movie What Happened Was … isn’t your typical romance, though it puts two lonely people together on their first date. (They’re played by Noonan best known as the villain in thrillers like Manhunter and RoboCop 2 and the remarkable Karen Sillas.)
